How a Ductless
System Works
A ductless system consists of an outdoor unit and an indoor unit. Refrigerant piping and electrical wiring is installed between the outdoor unit and indoor unit. The outdoor unit pumps cool refrigerant to the indoor unit which blows cool air into the space being served.
The main components of a Ductless Split Air Conditioning System Are:
- Outdoor Condensing Unit: Installed outside
- Indoor Unit: Evaporator unit installed inside. Typically wall mounted.
- Refrigerant Piping installed between the indoor and outdoor units.
- Control Device: A wireless remote or a wall mounted thermostat.
